Emergencies (pain, bleeding)
There is no need to say much about pain – it is usually a clear indication that a person should urgently seek medical help. However, I strongly advise against self-medicating with over-the-counter drugs, especially for several days without a medical examination. This can mask the symptoms of a serious illness and delay proper treatment.
Important advice! If you're bleeding heavily and for an extended period – you need an URGENT doctor’s visit! One of the biggest mistakes my patients have made for years is thinking: 'I'll see the doctor once the bleeding stops.' Remember – this is a huge mistake! Of course, a so-called “routine” check-up with no complaints should not be during your period. But ANY bleeding lasting more than 7 days, especially if it is heavy, requires immediate examination and further diagnostics. Often, urgent treatment is needed – treatment that can save your life.
For years I’ve been explaining to my patients – waiting for the bleeding to stop may mean it never does... and in extreme cases, it may lead to death or at best, permanent health damage. A short, simple visit in the clinic (any professional gynecological office is prepared to examine bleeding women) allows for quick assistance. Remember – it’s important.
In my office, I use only single-use materials and equipment to ensure comfort and complete safety for my patients. Such an exam should not be intimidating or embarrassing – of course, as long as it’s done by a professional.
Bleeding is not something to be ashamed of or hide. Bleeding is a reason for an urgent consultation with a doctor.
